So I was doing my usual stalking-not-submitting and...I noticed dA's logo has changed.

And we're getting a mobile app...?

So, after a long hiatus due to work and school, I'm returning to dA. I'd like to start off by offering commissions.

First, a ground rule: I can only take commissions for digital/traditional drawings and paintings. No photo manipulations.

Pricing

Traditional media portrait sketches: $7 - $10


These usually take just a few hours to complete. The above example (currently the only one I have uploaded) would be in the $10 range, since it was shaded with markers. A basic/pencil-shaded sketch would be in the $7 range.

Other traditional sketches: $10 - $12 per person/character


Full body sketches take longer. The pricing for these depends on whether or not they will be shaded and what they will be shaded with (pencil/marker).

Simple sketch + digital coloring: $20


Drawn in pencil/pen, digitally colored. A basic sketch (similar to the previous examples) with a basic background.

Digital painting: $35


While the textures may vary, all of my digital paintings are done in this style.

Notes

-I will not accept commissions that require intricate detailing (such as robotic parts, unless they are very basic).
-I only accept Paypal in USD. Payment should be made out to solenascuro@gmail.com
-You will get:

• A beginning concept sketch for your approval
• A second, refined sketch for any needed changes (I will only complete one revision, so make sure you know what you want)
• Completed line art
• A final, hi-res file sent via email
• WIP shots if requested

I'm pretty sure I'm more than that, but okay XD

Two nights ago, a 19-year-old young woman I knew through my friendship with her sister passed away in a car accident. She was riding with her older sister and little nephew on the way to California when she and the little boy died.



I don't have the details on the accident--who was driving, if they were hit by someone else, if they flipped, etc--but I do know that her friends and family are in great pain at this moment. And that is acceptable.
Personally, when I am in pain over something, I don't like it when people tell me to "be strong" and that "it will pass." No, it will not pass. The pain may lessen over time, but it will never, ever pass. And why should I be strong? I just lost something very dear to me. I need to mourn, to express my feelings and release the negative energy. Do not tell me to be strong because then I will feel obligated to bottle everything up until I explode and something bad happens. I know several other people who feel this way, and I'm sure her friends and family probably feel this way as well.
So I am not asking for pity or well-wishes. In fact, I only met her once or twice. But it hurts my heart to see my friends--who knew her more than I did--in such pain and sadness. But I would very much appreciate it if you would keep them in your prayers, even if it is only once. They really need it right now.
